Company markets radio transmitters for utility meters (residential water, gas, and electric) that
send readings to hand held and mobile receivers. These receiver packages are also marketed by Datamatic.
At the utility headquarters the receivers exchange data to the host system,
which is also a Datamatic product. This host system communicates with the utlity's billing system.
Products that I have worked on include the following:
- ProfilePLUS - a Java-based utility graphing package. This product may be executed as a stand-alone or invoked by
a calling program to graph consumption of water, gas, or electric.
- ROADRUNNER Mobile - a Visual C++ based package that communicates with a DSP based receiver package with 4 antenna panels.
This package received data from FIREFLYs (radio transmitters installed on utility meters (water, gas, or electric)) and stores
the data in an ACCESS database via ODBC. Readings and statuses are also displayed on the laptop computer.
- ROADRUNNER DOS and ROADRUNNER CE
Both packages work on handheld terminals used by meter readers.
The DOS package works with the handhelds using DOS, and the newer ROADRUNNER CE package works on Windows CE 4.2.
These packages enable readers to enter readings by hand and to receive packets from FIREFLYs.
The software also enables users to program the FIREFLYs.
- RouteStar MVP - a host package that sends configuration data down to the ROADRUNNER packages (Mobile and handheld) and
acquires data from the ROADRUNNER packages. This host package communicates with the utility's billing system.
